Announcing Alyssia Woods as Austin Young Chamber Executive Director
Seven-year nonprofit director and Certified Fund Raising Executive to lead one of the largest young professional organizations in Austin.
AUSTIN, Texas — October, 9, 2017 — The Austin Young Chamber today announced Alyssia Woods, CFRE, as its new executive director, effective October 9th. The Austin Young Chamber is a 600-member professional organization that provides a wide range of opportunities for young professionals to expand their skills and knowledge sets, and promotes the general economic interest of the Austin business community. The hiring of Woods supports the Austin Young Chamber’s continued growth and momentum.
Woods brings to the Austin Young Chamber seven years of nonprofit fundraising and leadership experience. She was chosen by the Austin Young Chamber’s Board of Directors after an extensive search process. Through her strategic planning experience, she plans to continue Austin Young Chamber’s mission in connecting and empowering Austin’s current and future leaders with elite programming, networking and civic-minded endeavors. Woods’ debut at an Austin Young Chamber signature event will be at the 8th Annual FAVE Awards on November 10, 2017, at the JW Marriott, where local businesses who support the young professional community will be honored based on the results of a voting program that culminated in September.

Most recently, Woods served as Director of Development for a local non-profit organization serving young women and children. During her seven years with the organization, she managed and led the development department and was part of an executive committee that planned multiple iterations of a five-year strategic plan.
Woods earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University, a master’s from The University of Texas at Austin, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
