April 2025 Member of the Month: Engage and Heal Foundation
Each month, the Austin Young Chamber will highlight a member who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen our community! Showcasing their achievements is just one way we can put a spotlight on the talented, collaborative, and community-focused workforce we have here in Central Texas.
This month we’re highlighting Engage and Heal Foundation.
Why did Engage & Heal Foundation join AYC and how has it benefited the company?
After attending the 2024 FAVE Awards and being recognized as the FAVE Way to Keep Austin Healthy, the Engage and Heal Foundation joined AYC to honor our commitment to promoting mental health, especially for young people and professionals
Tell us about a project or event that has had a meaningful impact on the Austin community.
During the organization’s Fifth Anniversary celebration Out of the Woods gala on March 29, 2025, Lake Travis high school senior Robby Belmarez was honored as the first-ever Engage and Heal Foundation Student Ambassador!
Robby’s message that “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and his advocacy to support the student body by encouraging mental health education and resources helped him to stand apart as a young man of vision and follow-through, who launched a campaign on and off the field this football season to bring mental health to the forefront of his classmates, teachers, teammates and even fiercest opponents’ minds.
Dedicated to encouraging healing conversations and breaking the stigma of mental health, the Engage and Heal Foundation honored Robby’s mental health advocacy with the ambassador award and a $2500 scholarship.
Tell us about Engage & Heal Foundation’s mission and how young professionals aid that mission?
The Engage and Heal Foundation is dedicated to breaking the stigma associated with mental health while promoting education and care resources. Young professionals are instrumental because of their touch points with others, from co-workers to friends, as well as family and community members. The future of mental health can be brighter with the help of strong advocates in the workplace and society who understand the importance of prioritizing mental health. By having the courage to know the signs, start conversations, and teach skills, we can each engage individuals around us in a community that is dedicated to improving and maintaining strong mental health.
Is there anything else we should know about Engage & Heal Foundation?
