Austin Young Chamber welcomes Aubrey Martin as new Business Development Associate

Texas State University grad joins staff of one of the largest young professional organizations in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — April 13, 2021 — The Austin Young Chamber today announced Aubrey Martin as the new Business Development Associate joining the chamber team.

The Austin Young Chamber has a membership base of 650 young professionals and provides a wide range of opportunities to promote the general economic interest of the Central Texas business community through learning, engagement, and connection. The hiring of Martin supports the Austin Young Chamber’s continued growth and momentum as a thriving chamber of commerce.

“We are thrilled to add Aubrey to the Young Chamber team to support the growing needs of the Young Chamber and the increasing number of businesses and young professionals in Central Texas. His fresh perspective and enthusiasm for our mission and members will help us move forward in a big way,” said Alyssia Palacios-Woods, President & CEO of the Austin Young Chamber.

Born and raised in Texas, Martin is a recent graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. While continuing his education in San Marcos, Texas, he formed close connections with local business owners and prominent city figures.

During his time as a student, Martin worked closely with the City of San Marcos by promoting Downtown San Marcos through a city-led organization. Other businesses began seeking out assistance from Martin after becoming aware of his contributions to downtown. This allowed him to perform ongoing contract work with small businesses in the area. His most notable contribution, however, is the growth he initiated through the city’s rising organization, Truly Local.

“When I was growing up in Bryan, Texas my family and I had to face tough situations, including not knowing where we were going to eat or sleep. Being raised in those situations did not allow for me to make reliable connections in the business world. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and had to slowly gain a network and business skills,” said Martin. “AYC offers everything to support career growth from ground zero, offering opportunities that could change any professional’s life. To be able to be part of an organization where our primary objective is to serve members and the community is so fulfilling. I am ecstatic about the possibilities and to grow our capabilities!”
