Young Chamber Leaders Recognized as Real Heroes by American Red Cross
August 5, 2019 – Austin, TX – The American Red Cross is widely known across the nation for their quick response and on the ground support during disasters, blood drives (let’s not forget that Game of Thrones activation at SXSW 2019…), and training services that help save lives.
On Wednesday, July 31, the American Red Cross serving Central and South Texas took a moment to celebrate Real Heroes in our community in partnership with the Austin Central Library and local chambers, including the Austin Young Chamber.
“Not all heroes wear capes. There are individuals all around Austin who are doing extraordinary things each and every day for our local community. We were excited to partner with our local Chambers of Commerce to highlight the many talented individuals within their membership.”
Alex Villa, COO of the American Red Cross serving Central and South Texas
The Austin Young Chamber is proud to recognize as our Real Heroes Billy Moyer and Ashley Alaniz-Moyer, both leaders in the Austin Young Chamber, for their contributions to our community and instrumental work in organizing Central Texas Signing Day.
Central Texas Signing Day is a day of celebration for local high school graduates, many of whom will be first-time college attendees, for their pledge to attend and finish college or any post-secondary training program. The event partners with our local ISDs, colleges, and universities and brings together 800+ high school graduates for a giant pep rally designed just for them.
“We are passionate about education and by putting on Central Texas Signing Day we are able to celebrate our future leaders and motivate them to reach higher. We really appreciate this recognition, because it comes from two organizations we respect so much, the American Red Cross and the Austin Young Chamber.”
Billy Moyer and Ashley Alaniz-Moyer
Central Texas Signing Day is an important event to the Austin Young Chamber because it is a moment where we as a community can show support and encouragement for our future young professionals.
Congratulations to Billy Moyer and Ashley Alaniz-Moyer on this well deserved award honoring their ongoing support and dedication to our community.
