ChangeMaker Finalist: Bradley Gold

The Austin Young Chamber would like to recognize and pay tribute to this year’s ChangeMaker finalists. The ChangeMaker Awards, presented by UFCU, are part of the 5th Annual ChangeMaker Luncheon on February 16, 2018. This year’s nine finalists are inspiring leaders who have a passion for dedicating time and talent to successfully make a difference in our community. Throughout the weeks to come, we will honor these individuals one at a time.

Bradley Gold

Professor, McCombs School of Business |The University of Texas at Austin

I am a full time Lecturer at McCombs, with one of the largest student loads on campus.  I am one of the youngest professors in our #1 Masters Accounting Program, and I have helped nearly 50 students in my business law & ethics course find paid jobs or internships with ethical Austin companies in the past year.  On campus, I have been recognized for my work to create a welcoming classroom environment and am an evangelist for diversity and entrepreneurship.  This leads me to spend free time speaking to student groups like the Student African American Brotherhood and the Jewish Executive Mentorship group about how to launch companies and I help them find jobs. I also mentor private companies through Food + City to help tackle systemic problems in our access to healthy and nutrient-rich foods.  Speaking of systemic community problems, I help neighborhoods and families where access to credit or banking services is lacking.  I am the Co-Founder and COO of MiraLend, a company designed to put an end to predatory lending and debt cycles.
