- What brought you to Austin and how long have you been here?
Let’s be real…Michigan weather is far from Texas weather. In all seriousness though, I came down to Austin, TX for college initially with firm plans of starting my adult life here. I knew that if I didn’t take a chance out of high school and move I probably never would. I am grateful I moved here in 2012 and glad I am still here! - How did you get connected to AYC?
When I graduated college in 2015, I started seeing most of my friends move back home and out of the Austin, TX area. I wanted an opportunity to connect with like-minded people who can have a good time and are goal-oriented and wanting to not just exist but thrive. I “googled” around and the AYC came up. All the events, meetings, and many opportunities hooked me from the first coffee connection. - What are you involved with in AYC AND what is your favorite part of AYC?
I attend as many events as I can and am on the Ambassador Committee. My favorite part of AYC is definitely the people. The meetings, events, and opportunities would be nothing without so many supportive people I get to meet along the way. - Where can we find you brunching in Austin on any given Saturday?
Kerbey Lane Cafe is definitely one of my favorite places to brunch day or night because pancakes aren’t just for breakfast. - If you could have any superpower, what would it be and what would you use it for?
If I could have any superpower, I would choose teleportation. I could avoid Austin traffic and travel to wherever I wanted in the world in an instant. (But mostly to avoid Austin traffic) - If you could have any celebrity live next door to you, who would it be?
If I could pick anyone, I would have Andy Samberg live next to me. I feel like my existence needs more laughter and comedy in it. - If you had guests visiting Austin for the weekend, where is the first place you would take them to show them a good time?
Depends which guests I have with me but I would take them to Rainey Street because it has a lot of local heart and isn’t 6th street. - If you played hooky for a day, where would we find you and what would you be doing?
You’d find me escaping into the greenbelt, paddle boarding, and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle Austin has to offer. - When people ask you what you do for a living, what do you tell them?
Everyone: “What do you do for a living?”
Me: “I manage a security firm!”
Everyone: “Wow I’ve always thought about getting an alarm system or cameras in my house.”
Me: “That’s not quite…”
Everyone: “Oh you mean cybersecurity. What an interesting and growing field.”
Me: “No like…uniformed officers…when…you…want something protected.”
Every. Single. Time. - What technology could you not live without?
Unfortunately…my cell phone. It’s been integrated into every part of my life!! - Who inspires you?
People that inspire me the most are those who can rise above negative situations in their life and make the best of it. - What is your proudest accomplishment?
I’m proud that I’ve almost completed my master’s degree and am managing a large portfolio of accounts and employees at my age. - If you couldn’t live in Austin, where would you want to live?
I would love to live in Spain. - I want to learn how to…?
