AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Young Chamber, in partnership with the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department, congratulates Unravl Hair, winner of the Austin Fast Start pitch competition that took place virtually on Monday, August 16.
Unravl Hair saves individuals time and money by automating the braid takedown process – a safer, cheaper, and more convenient option. The Unravl products will be sold direct to consumers through e-commerce channels. Zanbria Asante, founder of Unravl, wants to spearhead the evolution of robotics and continue to bring innovative solutions to the hair care industry.
“Winning the Austin Fast Start pitch competition gave me more validation to continue to build and grow Unravl Hair. I’m excited to represent Black women in the tech space and bring more opportunities to the Austin area with Unravl Hair,” says Zanbria Asante, CEO and Founder of Unravl Hair.
The Austin Fast Start pitch competition fosters the spirit of innovation within Austin by highlighting early stage startups in various economic development priorities. Arts, culture, and creativity are essential elements to Austin’s unique and distinctive identity. Creative businesses included those that are turning their creative talents into successful and sustainable business ventures. This cycle’s topic encompassed a broad range of creatives in the Austin ecosystem.
“Congratulations to Austin Fast Start: Creatives winner, Unravl Hair, for an engaging business model,” exclaims Susana Carbajal, Assistant Director for the City of Austin Economic Development Department. “We are proud to wrap up another successful year of startup competitions in partnership with the Austin Young Chamber. Through these most recent four cycles of events, 13 small businesses and entrepreneurs have been positively impacted with access to professional feedback, funding, and business coaching.”
Congratulations to the Creative Finalists for this event:
While the 2021 Austin Fast Start Pitch Competitions have concluded, it will be back in January 2022 with three more strategic priorities. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
