December 2024 Member of the Month: Cameron Pinder

Each month, the Austin Young Chamber will highlight a member who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen our community! Showcasing their achievements is just one way we can put a spotlight on the talented, collaborative, and community-focused workforce we have here in Central Texas.
This month we’re highlighting Cameron Pinder.
Tell us about yourself (personally) and what inspired you to become a part of AYC?
I’m a local creative who partakes in modeling, acting, content creation, and event coordination. In my free time I prefer to go hiking, visit markets in the city, and explore new music & art venues. In high school I was fortunate enough to co-found 2 businesses under the non-profit Junior Achievement, which changed the trajectory of my professional career. When I moved to Austin I decided to find a non-profit that would allow me to connect with professionals in the city and give back to young workers just starting their careers. Seeing that AYC aligned with this, made it an easy decision to join the chamber.
How does your role at work align with being involved with AYC?
What inspired you to join the Ambassador committee?
After attending my first event at electric shuffle, I had the chance to speak to one of the board members Ashley Wainscott who explained what the chamber was and what it would take to join the board. Learning that my first step would be to join a committee, I went to a committee mixer where the Chair at the time, Hannah Garcia, made several very compelling points to join the ambassadors and the rest was history.
How has the Ambassador committee helped you grow either professionally or personally?
Personally my favorite part is helping to plan the events and promote all the great things the chamber has to offer. I take great pride in knowing an event our members attended and were able to build connections was facilitated by our committee. With the ability to plan our monthly events, represent as a spokesperson for our chamber, and be the point of contact for questions when new or current members get checked in, are some of the the wonderful reasons why you should join the ambassador committee!
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about myself is that I’ve snorkeled at the Island of Tortuga from Pirates of the Caribbean in Costa Rica.
If you would like to nominate our next Member of the Month, we want to hear from you! Please reach out and tell us all about them!
