September 2024 Member of the Month: Haris Quereshi
Each month, the Austin Young Chamber will highlight a member who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen our community! Showcasing their achievements is just one way we can put a spotlight on the talented, collaborative, and community-focused workforce we have here in Central Texas.
This month we’re highlighting Haris Quereshi.
Tell us about yourself (personally) and what inspired you to become a part of AYC?
I was born in Bryan, Texas but grew up in Brushy Creek and Dripping Spring. I have lived in East Austin pretty much ever since I graduated high school. I joined AYC to figure out how to become more integrated with the business community in Austin. As a creative, I’ve always felt that there is a divide between different artistic communities as well as with the rest of ATX and I needed to see how we could bridge that gap.
How does your role at work align with being involved with AYC?
How has the Give Back & Get Loud committee helped you grow either professionally or personally?
It’s definitely helped me expand my network of nonprofits doing good work in the community. I can help give them coverage and exposure so it’s been extremely rewarding to help create that ecosystem for KAZI to be successful. It also show folks who are doing the right thing that someone cares and is paying attention to them as they’re putting the work in.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
I’m a musician/writer/DJ who’s written about sports, food, comedy, art, music, etc. and have played with my musician friends at some pretty cool places!
If you would like to nominate our next Member of the Month, we want to hear from you! Please reach out and tell us all about them!
