As the President and CEO of the Austin Young Chamber, Alyssia Palacios-Woods is dedicated to creating quality and relevant programming for the young professional workforce and representing the voice of young professionals in Central Texas. Her expertise includes organizational management, strategic planning, outcomes measurement, fund development, and communications.
Palacios-Woods is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) dedicated to best-practice in non-profit operations and fundraising. She has worked in the non-profit sector for the past ten years, previously as the director of development at Annunciation Maternity Home in Georgetown.
Palacios-Woods received her Bachelor Degree in Communications from St. Edward’s University and her Masters Degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. During her time at St. Edward’s, she was a four-year NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Athlete, inducted into the All-Era Athletics Team in 2010 and into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013. At The University of Texas, she was a graduate of the top-ranked Texas Creative Program. More recently, Palacios-Woods graduated from the 2018-2019 Leadership Round Rock ISD program and was in the 2019 inaugural cohort for The New Philanthropist’s Mentors of Color program.
Raised by two educators in Corpus Christi, Texas, Palacios-Woods is passionate about lifelong learning and advocating for education as a pathway to prosperity. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Capital Idea, the Strategic Communications Committee for the Downtown Austin Alliance, and is an Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Directors for the Austin Chamber.
Palacios-Woods still plays tennis through various tennis leagues in Austin, and is also in a bowling league! She and her husband, Daniel, are parents to three young children who keep her motivated and balanced, and she has been an Austinite for 19 years and counting.
