Crystal Magni Palomino
Internal Communications & Learning Specialist | UFCU
Crystal Palomino is a border-town girl thriving as a young professional in her dream city of Austin, Texas. As an Internal Communications & Learning Specialist for UFCU, she has experience in curriculum design, delivery, and course evaluation. Currently, her focus is on developing and managing the internal communication strategy and tools, which is a growing function within UFCU.
In 2010, Crystal was the inaugural recipient of the Excellence in Leadership award, a peer-nominated award voted on by a committee of credit union business support staff. In both 2015 and 2019, Crystal was recognized as a Values Award Winner for Education at the UFCU Tony Awards, an enterprise-wide employee recognition celebration. Individuals recognized in this category are defined as someone who aspires to build a community that provides opportunities for all to learn and grow. Crystal fervently believes that education and knowledge are essential to the well-being of people, families, and communities.
Crystal’s award-winning approach to her work led her to look outside of UFCU for ways to contribute to her community. She is an active member of the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce and a past chair of the AYC Imagine committee, which brings together the circle of professionals and artists by collaborating with various arts-related organizations to create unique opportunities to connect.
Anyone who knows Crystal knows that education, professional development, and community engagement are vital facets to her lifestyle, which naturally led her to Leadership Austin. As a proud alumna of the 2018 Leadership Austin Emerge program, she deepened both her personal and professional leadership skills, learned about issues affecting Austin through open and balanced dialogue, and created relationships with those who seek to grow as leaders & find solutions for issues in Austin.
In her spare time, one will find Crystal at home with her family as she is a proud, new mom. When not learning and refining her parenting skills, Crystal happily lends a helping hand anywhere it’s needed through volunteerism. Crystal’s passion for servant leadership is rooted in the Holy Cross traditions she found at St. Edward’s University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Crystal uses that same passion to champion the vital role credit unions play in achieving prosperity in their local communities, and she strives to instill that same passion in all who join the credit union movement. When not working, volunteering, or spending time with her family, she enjoys reading and attending live theatre performances,
