Joe Adair is a seasoned banking executive with over 27 years of industry experience and a passion for building financially healthy communities. Currently serving as Senior Retail Manager of the Branch Network at UFCU, Joe oversees branches across Central Texas, Houston, and Gulf Coast, leading with a commitment to operational excellence, inclusive leadership, and community impact.
Joe’s professional journey began in an unconventional place—washing dishes at a BBQ restaurant. That early experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for service, which have remained central to his leadership philosophy. Throughout his career, Joe has mentored more than 30 professionals, many of whom have gone on to become senior-level leaders.
A proud native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Joe holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree as well as the prestigious Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) certification, reflecting his deep commitment to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” His work is grounded in the belief that financial institutions should be catalysts for positive change in the communities they serve. As co-chair of UFCU’s Black Employee Resource Group, he is a dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and has served on numerous boards, including the Chamber of Commerce and various foundation boards. He currently serves on the boards of E4 Youth, Sailstrong, Austin Young Chamber and several other community initiatives where he focuses on developing emerging leaders and expanding access to opportunity.
Joe is a recent graduate of Leadership Austin’s Essential Class of 2025 (Class #46), and is widely recognized for his ability to connect people, inspire teams, and drive meaningful change.
Outside of work, Joe is a devoted family man with a large extended family, and a proud dog dad to Taz and Teddy. He enjoys sports, water activities, and exploring the outdoors in his hometown of Austin, Texas.
