Hispanic Austin Leadership’s (HAL) goal is to help advance leadership skills and civic awareness while building a network of colleagues for life. HAL is a nine month program with sessions and Community Impact Projects. HAL seeks individuals dedicated to serving our community and interested in their leadership growth. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the Hispanic Community and the Greater Austin community.

Membership Details

The target audience are professionals from all fields who live in the Austin metro and are interested in getting more involved in their community and learning more about issues that effect Latinos/as.

Although session topics are driven by the Hispanic Community, you need not be Hispanic to apply.

Tuition: $1150, Application Fee: $35

Application consists of personal, professional and community info, short answers & 1 letter of recommendation.

Attendance is mandatory for the opening retreat, class days and graduation. HAL is a nine month program.

Events, Programs, and Meetings

NOTE: Currently, the retreat and fall sessions will be virtual.
Each HAL session is from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month from September through April excluding December. Session locations vary and generally coincide with the industry topic of the day. Retreat in August, Graduation in May.

Leadership Opportunities

Hispanic Austin Leadership (HAL) has been named as one of the top seven Hispanic leadership programs in the United States and generates a multi-million economic impact to Central Texas. Upon completing the program, HAL graduates have a better understanding of board opportunities and ways to engage in the community. They also gain new connections.
