Young Men's Business League of Austin

Connect. Lead. Serve. The Young Men's Business League builds today's young professionals into tomorrow's leaders by creating connections, fostering leadership development, and serving its chief philanthropic endeavor, the Austin Sunshine Camps.

With more than 190 active members and a growing alumni base, the YMBL provides a platform for members to connect through a variety of social and service opportunities while cultivating life-long personal and professional relationships.Since 1928, the YMBL's major philanthropic endeavor has been the Austin Sunshine Camps .The Sunshine Camps serve more than 1,000 children in Central Texas through free overnight summer camps and year-round Camper Ambassador and Counselor-In-Training programs.

Membership Details

YMBL is open to men between the ages of 22-45 who are ready to give back to the Austin community and meet the following minimum annual requirements: raise at least $500 to send one kid to the Austin Sunshine Camps; volunteer at four Austin Sunshine Camp events during the summer; volunteer and participate in the YMBL events; pay renewal dues of $300; and submit and pass a background check.

YMBL recruits new members twice a year, in the fall and spring. Application dates are made available at www.austinymbl.org/join. The board reviews each application and meets with each applicant prior to acceptance. An application fee of $400* includes first year dues and a new member retreat. Payment plans and financial assistance are available.

Events, Programs, and Meetings

In addition to hosting events such as the Austin Under 40 Awards (in partnership with the Young Women’s Alliance) and the Sunshine Run, the YMBL also hosts an Annual Golf Classic, Spring and Fall Flings, UT tailgates, a holiday party, a monthly speaker series lunches, and various professional development and social events.

Members are encouraged to serve on numerous teams, committees, the board and with the Austin Sunshine Camps.
