- What brought you to Austin and how long have you been here?
I have lived in Austin all of my life. Born and raised and proud to say a true Austinite. I have not felt connected to another city the way I feel connected to Austin. - How did you get connected to AYC?
Through marketing and other organizations. - What are you involved with in AYC AND what is your favorite part of AYC?
I am committed to the LEAD Summit and Changemaker Awards Committee.
Leadership roles and new areas of growth.
The connections amongst the AYC members.
The various roles and industries provide a variety of experience and knowledge across the board. - Where can we find you brunching in Austin on any given Saturday?
A few spots:
1. Forthright
2. Citizen Eatery
3. Tiny Boxwoods
4. Takoba
5. District Kitchen - If you could have any superpower, what would it be and what would you use it for?
The first thing I wanted to say was being able to see through walls because that would make my job much easier… Ha!
My real answer:
Healing – to be able to heal physical and mental illness/imbalance to a state of healthiness - If you could have any celebrity live next door to you, who would it be?
Amy Poehler - If you had guests visiting Austin for the weekend, where is the first place you would take them to show them a good time?
Start off with Zilker Park – that view is so grand! Next, travel over to South Congress for a funky walk, then change gears and go to Deep Eddy Pool for a dip and finish it off with a bite to eat a Pool Burger. Last, but certainly not least, continue on to Matt’s El Rancho for drinks and a second round of nibbles. - If you played hooky for a day, where would we find you and what would you be doing?
Spending time outdoors at a local plant nursery, hiking, reading a book, eating, snacking and then eating some more, painting and getting a pedicure. - When people ask you what you do for a living, what do you tell them?
I am the owner and operator of Simply Sold, a remodeling firm that focuses on providing a hand tailored, customized experience and simpler process for our clients. - What technology could you not live without?
My cell phone – connecting with anyone at any given time.
Amazon – buying online comes in a close second.
Instacart – getting fresh food even when there is no time left in the day
*Dislcaimer: I wanted to say netflix, but it was a little dramatic…I could survive on DVDs, after all, I have done it before. - Who inspires you?
Oprah – her open mind and curiosity to learn more about other’s and their perspectives. She provides a channel and platform for people to be heard. Their voice matters.
Her humbleness is inspirational, where much like me and you, she shares her opportunities for growth. - What is your proudest accomplishment?
Building Simply Sold from the ground up. I work to continually revitalize the process for all homeowners and to provide an ease with the renovation partnership.
*Coming in a close second: Becoming an author. I co-authored a book with over 20 women that will be released in the next two months. - If you couldn’t live in Austin, where would you want to live?
