THE TEXAS SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS RECOGNIZES ALI KHATAW WITH ITS 2016 ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Travis chapter has named Ali Khataw the recipient of its 2016 Engineer of Year award.

Each year, the TSPE recognizes the achievements and contributions of a professional engineer with its most prestigious award. This year’s award was presented to Ali Khataw, P.E. on Friday, February 26 at its Engineer’s Week Banquet, held at the Barton Creek Country Club in Austin.

The TSPE was founded in 1936 and is one of the largest professional societies in the United States. It serves the interests of individual engineers across all branches of engineering, and is devoted to the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering in Texas. “It is an honor to receive this recognition from such a great organization. I am proud to be a part of the TSPE which is committed to representing our profession and elevating the stature of the engineering community,” says Ali Khataw, president of Encotech Engineering Consultants, Inc.

He was the first engineer to be a Member of the Board of Directors for the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is a graduate of Leadership Austin, past chair emeritus of the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous non‐profit organizations’ boards.
