Committee Member Commitment Form

We are excited that you are interested in joining an Austin Young Chamber committee! Our committees are a great way to contribute to impactful programs, make new connections, grow as a leader, and make the most of your chamber membership.

Members interested in joining a committee should:
(1) Read about each committee’s purpose and activities here
(2) Agree to the Committee Member Expectations (below)
(3) Submit the following Committee Member Application for consideration

Committee Leadership will review the application and reach out within one week with next steps.

  • If you are chosen to be a committee member, you will be expected to:
    • Commit to serving on the committee for at least 12 months
    • Make your best effort to attend each committee meeting, contribute meaningfully to conversations to support chamber programs and initiatives, and complete any action items in between meetings (approx 2-5 hours monthly)
    • Remain a corporate or individual member in good standing
    • Prepare for meetings by reading any information provided by the chair in advance
    • Respond to all emails that require a response within 48 hours
    • Keep confidential all discussions, comments, and deliberations made at meetings, as well as other communications including emails, documents, etc.
    • As an Austin Young Chamber leader, be a powerful voice and advocate for the chamber and our members at both chamber and community events
    • Attend at least one chamber program a month and at least one signature event annually
    • Support the goals and strategic plan of the Austin Young Chamber as developed by the Austin Young Chamber board and staff
  • Please note that you must be an active member of the Austin Young Chamber to serve on a committee.
